- Biography: I'm just a new artist...only been painting since 1959, but, didn't take it seriously until 1992. While oils are my medium of choice, I also love crayons, pastels, house paint (yes), pencil, pen, watercolors, chalk, and drywall mud. I paint on canvas for the most part, but, I also paint on wood panels, loose cloth, concrete, asphalt, paper, support beams, grass, and ceilings (NOT the Sistene Chapel) if they are low enough.
My main concern is to evoke an emotion from the painting, however small or insignificant it may be to some folks. There is a communication in art, and I work at finding that which speaks to the heart. For example, the Linescape and Indy Cityline paintings....not just cityscapes, as they were painted from the gravesites of James Whitcomb Riley and Benjamin Harrison, and I hoped that each would speak to that.
